Hello all, my name is Andrew Hilson and I am a grade 12 student from Acton District High School. In my regular life, I enjoy soccer, playing the flute, acting, I love reading and have a book collection which lines the walls of my bedroom - and then, of course, I enjoy a good movie.
My goal in this blog is create a location where I discuss my favourite film franchises. Sometimes films tell a story, and a franchise is generally a group of films/stories about the same hero. There are times that these heroes have a good reason to return, to travel further, to right a wrong, etc. But then there are times one wonders, is the film just being released to earn a quick buck – not for story sake but for money. My favourite films, I believe, are franchised for enjoyment and not money. One might ask a general question “what is a franchise – and what “makes it so”? I hope to help you understand.
